I am one of a few therapists who specialises in electrolysis, the only permanent method of hair removal.

Electrolysis can also be used to treat minor skin blemishes such as milia, tags and thread veins using a similar technique.

I have considerable experience of working with a wide variety of clients including PCOS, transgender full beard including longer clearance sessions, menopausal/hormonal hair growth, laser stimulated hair growth, darker skin colours and clients who have been dissatisfied with treatment elsewhere.

Whereas laser and IPL are excellent at hair reduction especially on dense dark hair and large body areas, Electrolysis is the only safe and reliable permanent solution regardless of body area, hair colour, hair density and skin colour. It’s not a one off treatment due to the nature of hair growth cycles and the influences of hormones and certain medications. But with commitment to an individualised treatment plan you with see the hairs gradually disappear.

Following a consultation and test patch, a treatment plan is recommended based on your individual situation. A fine sterile disposable probe is used along with the latest technology and techniques to release a small electrical pulse that actively reduces the hair growth over time. It is a safe and reliable method that has been used for over 100 years. There are no permanent side effects. There will be a temporary reddening of the skin. Some temporary marks may occur.

Electrolysis can also be used for the removal of minor skin blemishes. Known as advanced cosmetic procedures, it is a cost effective way of removing skin imperfections. These include skin tags, sun damage, warts, blood spots, milia.

About Me

After training in beauty therapy in the late 1980’s, I graduated with a degree in human physiology.

My teaching career spanned almost 30 years in some of the most prestigious colleges and private training providers throughout the UK. I have worked and trained alongside some of the industry’s most well known individuals.

In 2015, I left teaching behind to set up my own practice after unprecedented demand for an electrolysis specialist in the South.

I have clinics in Hove and Worthing throughout the week. Evening and weekend appointments upon request.

“I have been visiting Melanie for several months now and have always found her to be professional, fair and efficient. She is approachable, easy to talk to and makes me feel at ease. I was told, from the outset, to view my treatment as ‘a marathon not a sprint’ but, in reality, I have been amazed by the results from the start. With each session, there has been a noticeable reduction in regrowth. Melanie is knowledgeable and her advice about what products to use in between sessions has been invaluable. Thank you Melanie!”

“I first met Mel at a beauty exhibition where she was working on a (sterex) stand. She had a really friendly manner so I instantly warmed to her when asking questions. I later decided to book a training day with her in Brighton. She is extremely knowledgeable. Her training technique was patient and supportive with some added humour that made the day really fun and enjoyable . I had also met someone I was confident to have some treatment with myself , what with the arrival of menopause! 7 years on we have become good friends. Most Electrologists work alone so it can be lonely at times. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve tried to convince her to come to London and work at our Clinic. It’s nice though to have someone to reach out to that understands the industry. I highly recommend Melanie White for training and treatments.”

“Mel is the absolute electrolysis expert! When you initially go to see her she will talk you through the process, what to expect and come up with a plan for your treatment. She makes sure there are regular appointments available for you so that the best outcome can be achieved. Her studio is clean, calming and very comfortable and the results are excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mel. She has definitely helped give me a much needed confidence boost.”

“I came across Melanie following a move to Brighton. What struck me from the moment I met Melanie is that’s she’s not simply a beautician. She’s a lady that specialises in and prides herself on being the best at electrolysis hair removal! This may sound odd but if hair removal is what you want then Melanie is the only person I’ve come across (and let me tell you I had been to many) that knows her stuff. She's professional, she’s incredibly knowledgeable in her field, and she provides wise advice that YOU must listen too!

For me Melanie recognised I had extensive facial hair removal needs (M2F trans woman). She immediately recommended I go down the path of “blend” providing guidance that whilst slower than other techniques it will protect and reduce the chances of facial scaring! She was right! I signed up, I committed to the regular schedule of weekly sessions and never missed one.

The end results are truly incredible and testament to Melanie and truly how good she is. My gratitude to her hard work, professional guidance and dedication falls short in just a thank you. I can’t recommend her more highly.”

“I am just finishing a course of electrolysis with Melaine White and am extremely happy with the results. Melaine is friendly, very professional and clearly has a wealth of experience and knowledge. Her treatment room is always warm and welcoming and parking is easy (and free) nearby. I would not hesitate to recommend Melanie to anyone looking for an electrolysis specialist. Marion

I came to see Melanie after a recommendation from a friend. Her treatment has made a huge difference to my self confidence. She is always professional and will offer advice when asked. I would highly recommend her services.”
